The objective of the VineRobot project is the design, development and deployment of a novel use-case agricultural robot as an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), equipped with several non-invasive sensing technologies.
2. Artificial Intelligence and sensing technologies
The scope of VineRobot covers the integral monitoring of vineyards by placing a ground robot endowed with artificial intelligence with sensing technologies.
Chlorophyll-based fluorescence, RGB machine vision and thermography technologies wil be used to monitor vineyard on-the-go.
3. Precision Viticulture
Parameters such as grape yield, vegetative growth, water status and grape composition were measured by the robot.
4. Eight partners
The project involves 8 partners (5 SME and 3 RTD organizations) from 4 different vine-growing and winemaking European countries (France, Germany, Italy and Spain).
5. Funding from the European Union’s Seventh Programme
VineRobot has received over two-million euros funding from the European Union’s Seventh Programme for research, technological development and demonstration.
